Oval Rugs

Perhaps oval rugs are the most unique and rare in shape among carpets. Whereas other carpets have standard sizes, oval rugs’ measurements haven’t actually been established yet. However, oval rugs are measured in the same manner as rectangular rugs. The larger diameter is considered the length, and the smaller diameter is considered the width.

Oval rugs are similar to round rugs in their history and design. Usually they follow Chinese, French Aubusson and Savonnerie styles. During the last fourty years, they have become quite popular in Iran. The most ancient oval rug has been woven in the sixteenth century.

It is essential that oval rugs would create a good match with your decor. Choose a rug with colours, which coordinate with your decor. A lighter-coloured oval rug will make the room seem more spacious, while a darker one will add some warmth. Oval rugs look great in bedrooms and kitchens as well as in dining rooms and foyers.

In addition, if you want to create a focal point for your drawing-room, you may cover oval rugs over an area rug.
